Window title magic words
The game window title can contain placeholders; GPCL replaces them with real values at launch.
The setting is under Settings → Game → Game window title. Leaving the title empty means the game window title is not modified.
Example
Write the title as:
{time} · {mc_version} · {gpcl_version}
After launch it may display as:
20:09:58 · Minecraft 1.21.3 · 1.6.0
Available placeholders
| Placeholder | Replaced with |
|---|---|
{mc_version} | Version display name, for example Minecraft 1.21.3, or the name including the loader |
{mc_id} | Version folder name, for example 1.21.3-Fabric |
{username} | Player name used for this launch |
{gpcl_version} | GPCL version number, for example 1.6.0 |
{date} | Launch date, format 2026/10/20 |
{time} | Current time, format 20:09:58 |
{datetime} | Date and time, separated by a space |
{java} | Directory name of the current Java runtime |
{memory} | Maximum memory allocated for this launch, for example 4096MB |
Case matters. A misspelled placeholder is displayed as-is, so you can see which one is wrong.
Does the title stay?
Below there is a "Keep this name when possible" switch, off by default.
- Off: after the game window appears, GPCL keeps correcting the title for 20 seconds. If the game or a mod then changes the title, it is left alone. A title containing
{time}also freezes at that moment. - On: your title is kept for the whole session, and entering a world does not overwrite it with " - Singleplayer".
Some modpacks or mods change the window title too; the two overwriting each other is normal.
note
Only the game window title supports magic words right now; they have no effect in other settings.
